LOVE & COCONUT – EP 1: TWO WORLDS APART – AN EPISODE REVIEW BY PNG HAUSBUNG

Creator: Liklik Media

Release Date: Friday May 15th, 2026

Cast: Nellie Seta, Joseph Paul, Hane Kokoha

Love & Coconut, PNG’s first-ever vertical drama production introduces viewers to Maria – a simple island woman and Daniel – a stereotypical city-dweller, who cross paths unexpectedly at Ela Beach, Port Moresby. From a brief misunderstanding to playful revenge, these characters bring humour and charm to a series that promises romance and drama ahead.

The 4-minute episode moves rapidly with brief dialogue and quick scenes presenting the main characters and occasional supporting characters.

Dialogue is generic and needs more of each character’s personality.

Main characters need a surname to distinguish from supporting characters. Important supporting characters (e.g. Maria’s mother) need a first name if not already established.

Final Verdict:

Minor details need improvement but this episode has already left a fair number of viewers on the edge of their seats – a critical element to keeping an audience.

★★★☆☆ (3/5)

Can be better but still a good start.
