Miss Pacific Islands 2022, Ms Josie Nicholas present at the occasion, encouraged all participants to brush their teeth twice a day for 2 minutes. She told students that taking care of your oral health leads to better overall health.
“Make sure you tell your parents to remind you to brush your teeth in the morning and at night before you go to sleep.”
“If you don’t brush your teeth, you can be vulnerable to getting diseases like gum disease or mouth cancer.”
The National Toothbrushing Day countdown was conducted live on national radio on Nau FM, Yumi FM and Legend FM by respective breakfast announcers Karl and Marie of Nau FM, Barbra of Yumi FM and Frankii of Legend FM.
Participants were given a toothbrush and tooth paste and showed the 5 steps on how to correctly brush their teeth.
Colgate is hoping to increase the number of participants each year and encourage a healthier Papua New Guinea. NEWS
