Colgate-Palmolive PNG has renewed its partnership with Cheshire Disability Services for another three years, committing K128,000 in support.
The renewed agreement reaffirms Cheshire's commitment to supporting persons with disabilities and their families through care, advocacy, education and community inclusion.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Cheshire Disability Services General Manager, Gerald Bengesser, thanked Colgate- Palmolive for its increased commitment.
"We're really thankful for the renewed commitment and increased commitment from Colgate. We had a lot of fun this year with Linus and the team, and we're looking forward for more events to happen together," he said.
"We're very grateful for the gift in kind on top of it. It's not just for our residents, but it serves our wider community, our working clients, and also our schoolchildren."
Also at the event, Colgate-Palmolive PNG General Manager John Wood said the company was proud to continue the long-standing partnership.
"Colgate is very much committed to Cheshire Disability Services and so we're very proud to renew the sponsorship today over the next few years," Mr. Wood said.
"We're here to continue our building partnership which supports persons with disabilities and their families, which is really important.”
He said the partnership aligns with Colgate's belief that every child and their family deserve a future they can smile about.
"Colgate-Palmolive's partnership with Cheshire Disability Services will continue supporting its programs and services, helping the organisation provide care, advocacy and opportunities to persons with disabilities," he said.
"Our support to Cheshire Disability Services will be a total of 128,000 Kina over the next three years. This includes monthly supplies of much needed oral, personal, and home care products to enable the smooth running of the operations of these facilities."
Mr. Wood said the support will also include Bright Smiles, Bright Futures (BSBF) kits and programs for Cheshire Homes residents and the inclusive Early Childhood Care and Education program.
"Bright Smiles, Bright Futures and Colgate's Global School Health Education Program has positively impacted over 3.5 million children in PNG since its inception in 2010. So, 3.5 million children have gone through that education process about how important it is to brush your teeth twice a day and also to wash your hands to keep yourself free from germs." Mr. Wood said.
"We are pleased to renew our partnership and sponsorship agreement for further three years with Cheshire Disability Services today as this initiative truly aligns with Colgate's core values of being caring and inclusive," he said.
"Every day we at Colgate-Palmolive PNG are committed to our company's purpose is we reimagine a healthier future and give every Papua New Guinean a reason to smile every day."
The event concluded with the signing and the presentation of a K128,000 cheque. The renewed agreement reflects the strong relationship between Colgate-Palmolive and Cheshire Disability Services, towards persons with disability and building a more inclusive community.
